Washing Away the Winter Blues

April Employee Appreciation Car Wash and Brisket

On Friday, April 15 (usually tax day!), the Accounting and Operations Department hosted the April Employee Event. Employees parked at the back of the parking lot and dropped off their keys at the front desk noting their name and vehicle make and model. From 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., Bulldog Mobile Detailing cleaned and shined twenty five employee vehicles. On Saturday, one employee was asked by a friend, “Did you get a new car?” Great job, Bulldog Mobile Detailing!

At 11:30 a.m., Music City Brisket started serving employees brisket and fish sandwiches as well as fish, shrimp or brisket tacos. Employees chose from sides of fries (sweet potato, Cajun, avocado and regular) and salad. Billie Hardison said, “That was the best fish sandwich I have ever had!” The lemonade cream pie dessert was also a hit.

Music City Brisket served all employees by noon allowing the entire team to celebrate together in the training room. “That was quick and so much faster than the last food truck,” said one employee. Fantastic service, Music City Brisket!

While employees ate, the Accounting and Operations team distributed goodie bags of microfiber towels, cleaning wipes and an Advocate Capital branded air fresher. Nice end to a perfect week – clean car, full stomachs and team building.

Do These Every Day Before 8 A.M. and Be More Productive!

Copyright : Ivan KrukWho doesn’t want to be more productive?

I recently read an Inc. article titled “8 Things You Should Do Every Day Before 8 A.M. to be More Productive.” They caught my eye and thought they would catch yours too:

  1. Get at least 7 quality hours of sleep a night. (If you do not make quality hours of sleep a priority, you might as well stop reading because the rest of this blog will not matter).
  2. DO NOT check email or social media…it puts you in a reactive state rather than a productive, proactive one.
  3. Pray or meditate. Do this instead of checking your email and unlock a perspective of abundance and gratitude.
  4. Journal for two main purposes…one to record your blessings and the other to record and thought dump about projects you are working on. You will be surprised by your creativity!
  5. Exercise between 20-45 minutes…trust me, the dopamine is real and wonderful.
  6. While you are exercising listen to inspirational or instructive content…and improve your mind and body concurrently
  7. Take a cold shower for 3-5 minutes
  8. Consume 30 grams of protein

This routine will take you about an hour and it will change your life.
