Your website is an important tool for new clients to learn about your law firm. Your firm’s site should have information such as location, practice areas, and how to be contacted. You should consider adding information that is useful for clients that have never hired an attorney before.
According to Mike Zellmer’s Attorneyatwork.com article, here are a few items you should add to your site for prospective clients that have never hired a lawyer.
Qualifications.
Ensure your website showcases the skills you and your firm have. Consider adding client testimonials and case results. Seeing positive results on your website can help prospective clients know that you care about your clients and the results of their case.
Review your attorney bio and make sure that your bio has information about your skills and expertise. Consider adding awards and certificates you have received for your work as an attorney. You might also want to add what you enjoy in your free time outside of your firm. This can include spending time with family, charities you care about, or your favorite weekend plans. This information helps round you out as a person and a prospective client is more likely to hire a person, not a firm.
Language.
Review the language that is used on your website. Ensure that it is easy to understand for someone who is not familiar with legal jargon. Consider asking a friend or family member to read over your website that isn’t familiar with law firms. Also, consider adding photos and videos of your law firm team. This can help break up all of the text on your website. Adding images or videos can also show a prospective client the values of your firm and help them feel familiar with your team.
