On Wednesday, April 1st, Advocate Capital had its first ever April Fool’s Day celebration! Since Easter was right around the corner, we decided to throw in an egg hunt for some added fun! The eggs contained candy, toys, cash, lottery tickets, coupons for a “free jeans day”, an extra vacation day and in the grand prize egg…a picture of our CEO, Mike Swanson! The grand prize winner ultimately won a Visa gift card.
Employees were welcomed into the office that morning with a holiday wreath hanging outside the door. Some of the unusual things inside the office included:
- Upside down tables
- Recycling bins “out of order”
- “Voice activation software” installed on the copier/scanner
- Backwards chairs
- An office turned into a cell block
- A murder scene
- Name plates upside down or replaced with nicknames
- Stuffed animals
- Missing pictures
- Relocated plants
- Office and kitchen supplies moved
- An in-process poker game on the conference room table
After the “What’s wrong around the office?” contest and the egg hunt, our event ended with a backwards lunch. The first course was an ice cream sundae bar, followed by desert – pizza!
Many thanks to the Accounting and Operations Team (Debbie Ivey, Claire Wood, Shirley Johnson, Billie Hardison, Gina Scruggs, Lisa Larkin and Karen Piercey) for the hard work in planning our first ever Topsy Turvy Easter Fools event! A great time was had by all!
