Distracted driving is a major problem, with reports indicating it is the leading cause of serious accidents involving teenagers.
Thomas Curcio with The Legal Examiner recently pulled together a list of apps that could help protect not only teens, but everyone on the road. Curcio has listed the top apps to help prevent distracted driving, along with pros and cons of each.
- Drive Safe Mode: This app gives parents the ability to know when their teen is driving, disabling the app, and once they have reached their destination. Drive Safe Mode is a free app that provides parents complete access via an online login. Parents can set parameters and block any notifications on their teens phone while they are driving.
- TextLimit: This app is based off the speed limit. The user is prompted to pick a speed at which the phone disables. Once the user is at the appropriate speed all app functions will be restored. This app is $25/year.
