Having a personal connection with your clients is important. According to Sally J. Schmidt’s Attorneyatwork.com article, many potential law firm clients want to know more personal information about the attorney they hire.
Common interests can be a great way to connect with clients and potential clients. Personal connection and common interests alone will not be the only reason a client chooses to hire you, but it can set you apart from other attorneys they are considering.
Here are some potential ways that Schmidt suggests to personally connect with clients while social distancing.
Attorney Bio
Find ways to add personal information to your bio on your website. Personal information can include writing about your hobbies, charities you volunteer for, or your family.
Find other creative ways to share your interests
You can express your interests in many other ways such as through your social media posts and the artwork and decorations in your office. Schmidt says it is important to “be authentic” and show your “true passions.”
