Would you believe that most of us spend 28% of our workweek reading and replying to emails? Email is fast becoming the preferred method of business communication.
I recently read with interest an article entitled “10 Common Email Mistakes” on the MindTools website. A few of the tips provided include:
1. Using the wrong tone
2. Avoid hitting “reply all”
3. Using vague subject lines.
I personally found #6 particularly helpful. I generally employ the 24-hour rule when replying to an email that elicits an emotional reaction. As we all know, you cannot “unring the bell!”
