Using social media to promote your business can be intimidating at times. It is important to be aware of how you are using each social media platform and how you can best use them to interact with other users to grow your firm.
Kevin O’Keefe, CEO of LexBlog and professional social media and blogging expert, provides some advice for lawyers on how to most effectively use each social media platform to expand their clientele.
One important tip O’Keefe gives in his article is to “give love” on social media. In other words, if a company or person that you would like to work with posts about an accomplishment or posts a blog you find interesting on social media, share the posts to let them and your followers know you appreciate it. They may in turn share your posts with their followers in the future.
O’Keefe also stresses in his article that although social media is a valuable tool, do not stretch your focus too much across the various platforms. Focus on one or two at a time. If you think blogging would benefit your firm, focus on that until you feel comfortable and then add another social media network. You may find that focusing on having a meaningful presence on one or two social media platforms is more valuable than stretching your attention over all of them.
