“Just be yourself.” The advice we’ve heard time and time again. Although it can be hard to follow such advice, Megan Zavieh with The Lawyerist, explains how important authenticity can be when it comes to strategic social media marketing.
Authenticity means being truthful and honest. We often view legal marketing where lawyers depict themselves unrealistically. It is now encouraged to stop hiding behind an online persona and start embracing your “real” life with your lawyer life. This is important because nowadays a potential client can Google your name where both your professional website and personal pages will pop up. With this being unavoidable, use it to your advantage! Find something that will be able to connect your human side to your clients.
Start small. Take a look at what your lawyer life image portrays. Now take a moment to figure out what elements of that image might not be as authentic and up to date. Without doing so, you may be leaving out important information that could actually help you with potential clients.
It can be scary to go outside your comfort zone, but being your authentic self through social media can create connections with potential clients you wouldn’t have been able to reach if you didn’t make that change. For examples of success stories and more on this matter read the full article here.
