The Covid-19 pandemic has touched all corners of the United States and across the globe. While most states are under stay-in-place orders, our healthcare workers are on the front lines, risking their health to keep us safe. In particular, Covid-19 has taken a toll on California healthcare workers.
According to an April 9, 2020, article in The Los Angeles Times, "more than 1,600 healthcare workers have become infected." Not all have come into contact through their work, according to The Los Angeles Times' breakdown quoted below:
- "299 people have acquired Covid-19 in a healthcare setting.
- 462 people have been exposed via travel, close contacts or community transmission.
- 890 people have been infected, but their specific source has not been reported."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is working hard to protect our healthcare workers. In a recent article posted on their website, the CDC guided risk assessment when dealing with potential exposure to Covid-19. We at Advocate Capital, Inc. hope that our friends, colleagues, and everyone reading this is staying safe and following all safety protocol measures. We are all in this together.
