When a third-year law student discovered a need, she went to work. Alyssa Leader created the COVID-19 Pro Bono Support ListServ to provide assistance to attorneys. There are two online forms – one for attorneys in need of help and one for law students and paralegals to sign up for a group email list. Leader then matches the volunteers with the opportunities.
As of May, she had matched about 250 volunteers with 80 pro bono opportunities. Volunteering has been a great way for many law students in limbo to help amid uncertain times.
