Advocate Capital Volunteers at Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary

Authored By: Amanda Unterreiner

A group of Advocate Capital team members recently volunteered at Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary in Nashville, Tennessee.

Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit owned and operated by our Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, Jeff Glueck, and his wife, Bonnie. Their mission is two fold – to provide a loving forever home to unwanted, neglected, and abused animals; and rescued animals rescuing people from substance abuse, sex trafficking, emotional abuse, and helping people re-emerge as productive members of society.

This is accomplished through partnerships with other non-profit organizations to provide physical and emotional healing for those suffering from various kinds of abuse and neglect, support re-assimilating into society post imprisonment, providing a place of peace for families with a terminally ill child or children, and educational husbandry programs for Metro Nashville men, women and children.

They work with the following non-profits:

·        Hope Kids Nashville – Piccolo Farms hosts terminally ill children and their families several times a year. One such event is their Hope-Giving event, which provides food, beverages, and activities for more than 30 terminally ill children and their families – at no cost to them.

·        Men of Valor - A faith-based organization that provides reentry support to formerly incarcerated men.

·        Mending Hearts – A recovery-based therapeutic community for women facing addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.

·        AncoraTN - An organization that provides comprehensive trauma-informed aftercare to human trafficking survivors in Tennessee.

Our team enjoyed volunteering at Piccolo Farms and meeting and interacting with their amazing animals. Volunteers mucked the pasture, raked gravel in one of their animal enclosures, set up animal play areas, cleaned the event barn, organized and inventoried merch, and showed love to our new animal friends. Advocate Capital has also made a monetary donation to Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary. If you would like to join us in donating or learn more about Piccolo Farms, including how you can volunteer, take a private tour, attend an open house, or book their space for a private event, you can visit their website at piccolofarms.org.
