Giving Tuesday: Supporting the Organizations That Strengthen Our Communities

At Advocate Capital, we believe that investing in our communities is just as important as supporting the law firms that fight for justice every day. This Giving Tuesday, we will be making donations to two organizations close to our hearts: Public Justice and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Giving Tuesday is a powerful reminder of how much good we can accomplish when we come together. Many nonprofits, like Second Harvest and Public Justice, offer donation matching on this day, allowing supporters to double their impact. If you’re considering giving this year, there’s no better time because your contribution can often go even further for the causes you care about.

Why Public Justice Matters

Public justice plays a vital role in protecting people and communities from abuses of power. Their work spans civil rights, consumer rights, workers’ rights, environmental justice, and more. They hold corporations accountable for misconduct and take on precedent-setting cases that many others cannot. These cases help shape a fairer justice system for all.

At Advocate Capital, we have long admired Public Justice’s dedication to leveling the playing field for individuals who have been harmed. Their impact extends far beyond any single courtroom victory; they drive systemic change that reinforces access to justice nationwide. Supporting Public Justice allows us to stand behind the legal advocates and trial lawyers who work tirelessly to protect the most vulnerable.

If you’re passionate about justice, fairness, and accountability, this is an organization where your Giving Tuesday donation makes a meaningful difference.

Why Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee Matters

Closer to home, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee continues to be a lifeline for families across our region. With rising food costs and ongoing economic challenges, thousands of individuals, children, seniors, and working families rely on food banks every day.

Second Harvest provides meals through mobile pantries, partner agencies, school programs, and community food distributions. Their efficiency, reach, and compassion make them one of the most impactful nonprofits in Middle Tennessee. Every dollar donated helps provide multiple meals to those in need, making Giving Tuesday a transformative opportunity to support neighbors in need of food.

At Advocate Capital, Middle Tennessee is our home. We volunteer with Second Harvest every year. We support Second Harvest because of the work they do to strengthen our community and ensure no one faces food insecurity alone.

Making an Impact

Whether you choose to support Public Justice, Second Harvest, or another organization that matters to you, your contribution has the power to create real and lasting change.

Many nonprofits, including Public Justice and Second Harvest, participate in Giving Tuesday matching programs, which means your gift may have twice the impact. If you’ve been considering giving, today is an excellent opportunity to maximize your impact.

We encourage you to join us in supporting the missions that make our communities stronger, fairer, and more compassionate.
