Improving Your Law Firm Communication
Effective communication is essential for law firms and all businesses. Poor communication can take its toll on your firm's employees and clients. Here are a few tips on how your law firm can improve your communication systems.
In an article for LexBlog, Zach Glaser states that communication methods should be secure and functional. Your clients' confidentiality is important. Any email, e-signing, faxing, texting, calling, or other communication technology should be easy to use for your clients and employees.
Consider creating communication procedures for your firm so your employees know which methods of communication to use in different situations. Glaser says, "There should be a written protocol for why internal communication will be sent via email rather than Slack or MS Teams. Document sharing with third parties should be done using a tried and tested method. And everyone in the office should know what can be shared via text message and what is off-limits."
You can also include any formal ethics opinions on client and attorney communication in your procedures to serve as a reminder for you and your team.
