To have a search-friendly website, your content needs to be structured in a way that search consoles can easily identify. To help you understand the steps needed to establish good content, we've provided a checklist, which includes auditing, analyzing, linking, and creating quality material. Search Engine Journal provides some tips about how to best optimize content in a recent article.
1. Auditing Website Content
Using keywords that are relevant to your practice area consistently and throughout your website will help search engines identify your business and promote you. Be sure to place them in areas such as your page title, descriptions, and image names.
2. Content Analysis
A great way to brainstorm new ideas is by researching your competitor's content and looking into untapped keywords. By running reports through services like semrush.com or simply asking your marketing agency for these, you can produce content like blog posts or new pages based on high-potential untapped keywords.
3. Building Links
It’s important to check if external links placed on your website are still functioning. Broken links can severely hurt your ranking. These links usually are related to sources that are no longer current, such as old legal journals, outdated laws, and old case studies.
When building your own website links, promote them by connecting with reporters and guests for article content that will be shared on other platforms and websites. Being a source of information and collaborating not only helps organic traffic to your website but strengthens your websites name online
4. Content can be repurposed
If you have older blogs still performing well, you can repurpose the valuable information and continue generating articles from there. This is an opportunity to continue sharing new pieces of content and attract audiences to your webpage without as much effort.
You can also be inspired by existing content, such as turning Case Studies into articles.
