One of the most important steps to planning a marketing strategy is to identify your audience. By understanding who you are marketing to, you are able to tailor your marketing plan directly at them. Jay Harrington, author and owner of Harrington Communications, recently shared tips on how to identify your ideal client in an article for Attorney at Work.
Think about the most common questions and issues your typical client has and address those issues in your marketing. Become a resource for your potential clients and start conversations.
Harrington says that once you create those resources, think about where to best reach your audience with those resources. He suggests making connections with the trade journals your audience reads and the conferences they go to can be beneficial.
