All businesses know that the best way to promote your brand, stay ahead of the competition and connect with new and existing clients is with a website. What you may not realize is that a standard desktop website may be doing more harm than good.
In a recent blog, PapertThin Inc.’s VP of Marketing Heidi Unruh shares five reasons why mobile responsive web design is crucial to your internet marketing strategy.
Here are a few items from her list:
- Mobile Usage – Society is glued to mobile devices and “according to Google as many as 77% of mobile searches occur while at work or at home where desktop computers are likely available.” Since the majority of consumers are choosing mobile over desktop, we need to make sure our websites are easily accessible.
- Web Experiences – “According to MIT, people can process and retain visual images in as little as 13 milliseconds. As few as 14 milliseconds are sufficient to get something meaningful into the brain.“ You have a limited time to make a first impression on your potential client, so be sure to make it count.
- SEO – Google likes mobile responsive designs. “In December of 2014, Google announced that it would score websites that it considers to be mobile friendly higher in search engine rankings.” If you want to keep your site on the first page of search results, you need a web responsive design.
