If you’re a law firm owner, you probably want your attorneys to work hard. But you want to be careful and help your lawyers avoid getting burnt out. Here are a few tips from Attorney At Work for ways to create a work culture that encourages attorneys to work hard without getting burnt out.
Clear Expectations
Be clear and upfront on the expectations of assignments, such as due dates, priorities, who is assigned to what, etc. You also want to establish expectations for the chain of command at your firm, the best ways to communicate with you, and how to identify issues and working hour expectations.
Model Good Work/Life Balance
Having a good work/life balance is important to reducing burnout. Other team members, whether they are firm leaders, partners, colleagues, will notice if you have a healthy work/life balance. Be a good model of this, no matter where you are in the organization.
