Learning the keyboard shortcuts for common actions you perform in Microsoft Word can save you valuable time and prevent your workflow from being interrupted. Deborah Savadra shared several of the most useful Microsoft Word hotkeys in her article for Attorney at Work. Many of these shortcuts will also work in your internet browser as well.
Some of the most useful keyboard shortcuts are the shortcuts to copy, cut, and paste. These can be used in your Microsoft programs as well as your internet browser. To copy press CTRL+C, to cut press CTRL+X, and to paste press CTRL+V.
There are also many shortcuts to help you more easily format your text such as:
- Bold: CTRL+B
- Italicize: CTRL+I
- Underline: CTRL+U
Another great shortcut you may not know is SHIFT+F3 to change the case of your text. So if you accidentally leave your caps locks on, it is even easier than you may think to fix your mistake and change upper case text to lowercase or vice versa.
