When an area of your business feels unorganized, it can lead to stress for everyone involved. It can be easy to let the issues build up and become overwhelming, but it’s never too late to reevaluate an organizational system and make improvements.
Andrea Cannavina, a personal productivity coach, wrote an article for Attorney at Work about organizing your law firm.
Cannavina says you should first, “Decide where to start based on how you complete this sentence: ‘The thing that bothers me most in my office is …’” Focus on one problem to tackle at a time.
Once you determine what organizational system you would like to rework, take some time to brainstorm and research the best way to solve it. Your employees who work most with that area of your law practice may be able to offer you some ideas and insight.
After you have determined a solution, Cannavina suggests you think about everything you will need to put the plan in place whether that is supplies, new hires, new software, etc.
