Referrals are an extremely valuable part of law firm marketing. Mike Margol, Vice President of James Publishing, shares a few tips on how to get more referrals in his article for Attorneyatwork.com.
Margol recommends sending a handwritten ‘thank you’ note every time you receive a referral to show that person that you value them. For your most frequent referrers, you may even think of doing something extra special for them by giving them a gift or Margol suggests recognizing and thanking them publicly in your email, newsletter, or blog.
Some clients may not even realize you want referrals so according to Margol reminding them occasionally that you always appreciate to the opportunity to help out their friends and family can increase the amount of referrals you receive.
Margol gives the idea of adding a short message like, “We appreciate referrals” to your email signature as a subtle reminder to your clients and business connections to send the people they know your way.
