Websites, social media and blogging. These are all crucial elements to your law firm’s online marketing initiative but what about your online reputation?
- Be aware of online review sites. Do you know what your past clients are saying about your firm? Stay on top of their reviews by searching your firm on these popular review site: “LinkedIn, Justia, Avvo, Yelp, LawyerRating, Martindale.com, Lawyers.com, Yahoo, Yellow Pages, Google Places and Google Business.”
- Augment positive reviews. If clients are taking time to review your firm, you should utilize this feedback to your best advantage. Black suggests adding these reviews to your webpage, linking to your Google+ page and claiming your firm profile on well-known lawyer directory sites.
- Manage negative reviews. Negative feedback is not the end of the world. According to Black, lawyers should “regularly run searches for your name and your law firm’s name so that you understand what your potential clients see first, resist the to tell your story since doing so adds credibility to the review, but do respond–briefly–and show empathy, avoid getting angry–or at least don’t show your anger, and counteract negative reviews by getting positive feedback on the same site.”
Always remember that providing excellent customer service should always be the top priority. “The best way to get positive online reviews is to do your absolute best to provide excellent representation.”
