In instances when newborn infants become lodged between the vaginal canal and pubic bone, doctors during childbirth may negligently pull the head of the baby with such force, that the nerves connecting from the neck to the shoulder, are severed. As a result, the baby's arm does not develop properly throughout his or her lifetime. This medical malpractice creates the condition known as shoulder dystocia.
"Don't even try to bring this case," was the response and challenge Dr. Edmond was faced with by the hospital that subjected his client to this condition. Having his team of experts and witnesses on his side helped Rod Edmond win for his client with $1.5 million granted in damages. In Dr. Rod Edmond's client's case, she was able to access her physical therapy needs and move forward with her life in a positive manner despite her challenges.
