Search Engine Optimization (SEO) remains the top priority for digital marketing professionals continuing into 2014. Even with the increase of traffic from social media outlets, SEO continues to be the #1 source for website traffic.
In a recent blog by digital and internet marketer Jomer Gregorio, he lists the “10 Reasons Why SEO is a Continuous Process.” Below are a few of the reasons he mentioned:
- Your Competitors Continuously Perform SEO too – Everyone wants to be on the first page of search results and the rankings are always updating. If you neglect your SEO, you can lose your page rank to your competitor.
- Search Engines Continuously Change Algorithms – Search engines are constantly changing their content guidelines and white pages dealing with page rank. With the newest updates like Google’s Hummingbird, companies need to be on top of their SEO in order to make appropriate changes and avoid penalties.
- Positive Online Reputations Need a Well Maintained SEO Campaign – Keeping company information up to date and monitoring consumer feedback is crucial to maintaining a positive online reputation. If your website or social media outlets appear stagnant, it could be detrimental to your page ranking and search engine results.
Remember SEO is an ongoing effort. “You just cannot set up optimization efforts for your website and then just leave it as it is. You may see a boost in your website rankings at major search engine results, but without a continuous SEO process, you should not expect that these high rankings will last.”
