Our team has been working from home for three months, but even from our home offices, it's business as usual at Advocate Capital.
In office, you can walk down the halls to find uniquely decorated offices for each employee. We are glad to see employees embracing their home office set-ups with individuality, like they do in office.
As we continue to welcome our ability to work from home, here are a few work from home tips from our team:
“Have a dedicated workspace where you can easily “shut the door” when the workday is over. Stay motivated by keeping a list of daily tasks and weekly goals.”
- Michelle Rigsby, Director, Client Management Services
“After gaining back your commute time each day, it’s a great chance to add to your workout routine, take care of the typical weekend household to-do’s, or simply relax.”
- Buffy Escue, Executive Client Manager
“I keep a running list of tasks, projects, and deadlines to stay on track. I find it helpful to give yourself a time limit, around 90 minutes depending on the task, for each thing you’re working on. This helps me stay motivated and keeps me from getting distracted by an incoming email or another task that I have to get done. I spend my allotted time on the task, then I check my email and move on to the next task.”
- Amanda Unterreiner, Marketing Coordinator
“Take breaks. You don’t sit at your desk all day at the office, so don’t sit at your desk all day while working from home. Set alarms to get into a routine and step away from the screen.”
- Buffy Escue, Executive Client Manager
