According to Annette Choti’s Attorneyatwork.com article, LinkedIn is used by most attorneys to network and market their law firm. LinkedIn is one of the top five Google-indexed sites-meaning if your law firm’s page has a high SEO score, the more likely it will populate in a Google search. Here are a few ways you can update your LinkedIn profile to receive better Google visibility.
Photos
Ensure that your profile picture is up to date and is a high-quality photo. You’ll want your profile picture to look approachable but also professional. Consider having your photo professional taken if you haven’t already, or use the photo on your attorney bio page on your law firm’s website.
Your banner or cover photo is just as important as your profile picture. Consider having a professional photo of your law firm team, your firm’s values, contact information, or your law firm’s website.
Update Your Profile
Review your profile and make sure it is up to date. Review your headline, summary section, and job experience.
Make sure your job experience doesn’t contain legal jargon and includes your legal expertise. Do not include job experiences that will not be relevant to your prospective clients. You can also add publications, awards, or organizations you’ve held a leadership position.
Your headline should be concise and filled with keywords on the services you offer as an attorney. Your headline can only be around 120 words, so you will want to ensure that it is well crafted and easy to understand. Your headline should also attract users to want to read further and learn more about you.
