Have you ever scrolled through a spreadsheet and suddenly realized, you have no idea what data belongs to which column?
There is a function in Microsoft Excel called “Freeze Panes.” This feature allows you to freeze the column headers of your data so that it remains on the page while you scroll.
Let’s try it out! In your spreadsheet, select the first cell underneath the column you want to stay in place.
Select the “View” tab and Select “Freeze Panes.” From the drop-down, select “Freeze Panes.” Now scroll through your spreadsheet and the top column will remain visible.
Note: You can also freeze the first column in a spreadsheet by clicking the first cell after that column and clicking “Freeze Panes.”
