Have you ever had a spreadsheet with a column of negative numbers and you want them to be positive? This is easy to do with a just a few clicks of the mouse.
Let’s say Column B contains 100 numbers and they imported into your spreadsheet as negatives. You want to prepare a chart with these numbers and you need them to show as positive numbers.
Simply move to the next column, Column C and key in the following formula:
=-B1
All you are doing here is entering the negative (-) sign and selecting the first cell that contains the negative number. Now, copy the formula down your column (you can do this by double-clicking in the bottom right-hand corner of the cell) and ta-da! Your new column contains all the numbers as positives.
Note: If you would like to turn positive numbers into negative numbers, the exact same formula will work!
