Navigating the internet for marketing your firm can be difficult. You want people to find you easily, but you want to make sure those people are potential clients. A micro-niche can really benefit your firm for potential clients to find you.
How does a micro-niche benefit me?
A micro-niche is essentially narrowing your search to be able to find the right clients for your firm. It may seem silly to narrow your search instead of broadening it, but it helps you market to the clientele your firm is wanting. This way if your firm specializes in medical malpractice cases; you won’t have people who are looking for someone to represent them in a workplace injury.
The best way to understand micro-niches is to think about the following searches:
- Personal Injury Lawyer
- Medical Malpractice personal injury lawyer Nashville, TN
Go to Google and look up “personal injury lawyer”. You’ll see about 220 million hits.
Now try the same thing but instead put “personal injury lawyer-Nashville, TN”. You’ll see about 3 million hits.
This time try with “medical malpractice personal injury lawyer Nashville, TN”. You’ll see about 444 thousand hits.
Now this last time search “Medical malpractice lawyer Nashville TN”. You’ll see about 255 thousand hits.
Those specific words make a huge difference! Although those numbers are still high, it does still help a potential client find you or your firm easier.
Will it help my law firm grow?
Using a micro-niche can benefit your law firm in many ways. It can also help your firm with:
- Competition. Finding your specialty and your micro-niche can make it easier for potential clients to find you.
- Cheaper. Digital ads such as pay-per-click can get expensive especially if you use common legal words. Targeting and using more specific words can save you money in the long run.
- Planning for firm’s future. Deciding what micro-niche is best for your firm can help you decide what kind of cases you want to take on. It also helps you decide what topics you are an expert on, what clients you want to help, and where you want your firm to be in the next 5 years.
