A group of Advocate Capital associates recently volunteered at Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary in Whites Creek, Tennessee, to help them get ready for their largest fundraising event, the Annual Pumpkin Harvest. The donations generated from the event help fund the feeding and shelter costs for their animals and allow them to provide free services to the non-profits they partner with throughout the year.
Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit owned by our Vice President of Strategic Solutions, Jeff Glueck, and his wife, Bonnie. Their mission is to provide a loving forever home to unwanted, neglected, and abused animals, and share the love of their animals with the community by partnering with other non-profit organizations, particularly those that serve children and individuals in recovery throughout Middle Tennessee.
They work with the following non-profits:
- Hope Kids Nashville – Piccolo Farms hosts terminally ill children and their families several times a year. One such event is their Hope-Giving event, which provides food, beverages, and activities for more than 30 terminally ill children and their families – at no cost to them.
- Men of Valor - A faith-based organization that provides reentry support to formerly incarcerated men.
- Mending Hearts – A recovery-based therapeutic community for women facing addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- AncoraTN - An organization that provides comprehensive trauma-informed aftercare to human trafficking survivors in Tennessee.
Our team enjoyed volunteering at Piccolo Farms and interacting with their amazing animals. Volunteers built pallet shelters, raked gravel in one of their animal enclosures, cleaned the event barn, and installed insulation in their event barn. Advocate Capital has also made a monetary donation to Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuary. If you would like to join us in donating or learn more about Piccolo Farms, including how you can volunteer, take a private tour, attend an open house, or book their space for a private event, you can visit their website at piccolofarms.org.
