At Advocate Capital, we value organizations and professionals who share our mission of helping plaintiffs and their attorneys pursue justice. One leader in this space is Jeremy Babener, a nationally recognized tax lawyer and founder of Structured Legal. Jeremy advises on the tax treatment of settlements and settlement strategies, helping law firms and their clients maximize the impact of their recoveries. He regularly writes and speaks on settlement taxation and serves on the Legal Committees of the three national settlement planning associations and the Plaintiffs’ Practice Committee of the American Bar Association.
In addition to his work with Structured Legal, Jeremy is also a key supporter of The Plaintiff Fund, a nonprofit operated by Help Hope Live. The Plaintiff Fund is designed to provide financial and community support to plaintiffs facing serious medical challenges during litigation. They support plaintiffs by offering:
- Medical Fundraising – A dedicated advisor works one-on-one with plaintiffs to create a personalized fundraising campaign, including webpage setup, outreach strategies, and marketing support to raise money from their community.
- Startup Funds – To kickstart support, The Plaintiff Fund provides a $1,000 grant to each eligible plaintiff needing medical assistance. To sustain this program, the fund is actively seeking donations and sponsorships from those who want to make a difference.
- Finding Resources – Plaintiffs receive guidance from a coordinator who helps them navigate medical vendors and service providers nationwide. From finding the right wheelchair to exploring specialized treatments, this resource ensures that plaintiffs can access essential care while their cases move forward.
At Advocate Capital, we understand the unique financial hurdles faced by plaintiffs and the law firms that represent them. That’s why we appreciate the work of professionals like Jeremy Babener and organizations like The Plaintiff Fund, who share in the commitment to improving access to justice and care for those in need.
