Hacking and Phishing attempts happen more often than any of us would like. Zoom gives you the ability to enable multiple security features to prevent these attacks.
First, Zoom will allow you to require a passcode, enable a waiting room, or require authentication to join your Zoom meeting. This way, users will either need to have a passcode you provided, be screened in the waiting room before joining, or ensure they are an authorized zoom user.
Second, zoom has a feature that will allow you to lock down the meeting once your participants have joined. This is as simple as clicking the shield icon in your session and selecting “Lock meeting.” From this same icon, you can also remove any unwanted participants.
Last, you can report any suspicious behavior to zoom. The report button can be found by clicking the small shield in the upper left corner during a session. From here, you will find a report button.
To access more information on this feature, navigate to www.zoom.us and click the Resources drop-down. Select Video Tutorials. Scroll down until you find the “Zoom Security Basics” video, or you can use this link to navigate directly to the video.
We love feedback from our customers and implement suggestions often. If you have a question or ideas for a blog, let me know. I might write about it!
